David It's difficult to pick a favorite track from an EP in which each offering is strong, so precisely confected. Incisive, witty lyrics set this release apart — it's as smart as it is fun, and a delightfully catchy listen Favorite track: Uncomfortable.

Let’s b-b-break this cycle - She can speak up, speak rough, be tough if it feels right (oh) Have a break, have a chit chat Think of all the shit that you spout Without thinking much about All the damage you cause Take a stroll through her brain Think again before you judge her, say that she’s too much (Yeah. Oh.) It’s taken years for her to breathe with ease so please don’t m-m-mess with that now (Did you hear me?) And as she flees society’s disease, she’s on her knees, she needs to feel free to speak clearly. (Oh) Does she make you uncomfortable Coz she hunts the ball? (She does her own stunts n' all, She’ll use the word ‘cunt’ before you do.) Mmmhmm. Haha. Does she leave you inferior Coz the fear that ya tried to instil in her Didn’t work and you’re wearier than you were before you met her? Why w-w-wait for nightfall? She can speak out, speak loud, be proud if it feels right (Oh) If you like a lot of shocked looks in your business Join her club, substitute the hub (Coz she’s savagely bored Of all the bullshit she’s sold, Lies she’s told that still oppress her, fashioned to repress her) Oh! It’s taking time to redefine and find alignment in her own m-m-m-m-mind (Did you hear me?) And as she turns from this and spurns the gurns she earns from shits She learns to sit freely and spit, spit clearly.

I know I know I know I know That my wake is making us go down, slow down (All that toxic what's-it-called) I'm overwhelmed and boasting so There's a lot at stake and I'm so low and so broke (She's a no-show, Oh no) What we gonna do? Who am I trying to be? I'm in front of you (please!) Green should be the colour of our hearts baby (But we're blinded by the red instead) We don't see the blood along our palms lately (We, frightened, hide inside and shed the head) Uh oh, uh oh We're slow to grow and overblown A disgrace to space and our ego is free-flow (All these noxious fossil-fools) I know I know I know I know That we could go now we're code red and so dead (You're a fugitive; refuse to live) What is left of this? Who will notice if I'm the fighter that flees? (Please!) Green should be the colour of our hearts, baby (But we're blinded by the red instead) We don't see the blood along our palms lately (We, frightened, hide inside and shed the head) And we cling to the things we know so the cracks won't show (So slow! Oh no!) Green should be the colour of our hearts, baby, yeah! It's a renegade escapade And I left when I knew that I should have stayed But I made this mess and I must confess I feel most undressed When you test me and I don't know the answers I'm exposed as a chancer Well I can't stay I shan't stay (Defend yourself if you dare) Green should be the colour of our hearts, baby (But we're blinded by the red instead) We don't see the blood along our palms lately (We, frightened, hide inside and shed the head) Green should be the colour of our hearts, baby (But we're blinded by the red instead) We don't see the blood along our palms lately (We, frightened, hide inside and shed the head) And we cling to the things we know so the cracks don't show (So slow! about

This fizzy debut EP from London-based artist, GLYSK, is a technicolour explosion of electronic pop with something to say for itself. These four tracks will make you feel like you’ve walked in on the patriarchy with its pants down and it’s made you wanna dance.

Lyrical gymnastics injected into a cocktail of empowered 80s nostalgia and here-and-now societal critique, “Social Intercourse” bops its way through the themes of illicit desire, social stereotyping, environmental anxiety and queer heartbreak, without stopping for breath.

GLYSK has spent years making GarageBand demos on her smashed-screen iPad in her bedroom. It wasn’t until producer Brain Rays heard them that they came together with James Stewart to turn those demos into the glitchy, iridescent slickness that shimmer in this EP.
